A Spotlight On Business
Scotland, in particularly West Lothian have so many strong businesses offering various services and products that the West Lothian Chamber of Commerce wanted to highlight and provide a platform for businesses to come together. Our answer to this was to host a premier business to business exhibition.
On the 16th of October we welcomed 75 companies from across Scotland as they showcased their business to visitors.
Kicking off the day our exhibitors arrived to set up their eye-catching stands and to ensure all went smoothly Myles from McGregor Traffic Solutions was on hand to offer direction. Exhibitors were able to get some vital networking done before we opened the doors to visitors at our breakfast event where Jackie Galbraith, Principal of West Lothian College who officially welcomed us and kicked started the day.
As we opened to visitors, we were delighted to note that between ourselves and our exhibitors we had created an engaging friendly environment. On the day we had over 100 visitors come along to chat with our exhibitors as well as take part in a range of activities.
The day was supported by many of our members including our main sponsor Global, who as well as hosting a successful workshop on digital advertising, helped to market the event to the general public on Heart Radio.
As well as Global, we had the support of our Premier Partner Morton Fraser Lawyers who gave us a valuable update on Employment & Immigration Law, the Cyber Crime Prevention team from Police Scotland who focused on providing businesses with information on how they can prevent cybercrime affecting their business, Omniscient Safety Innovation ( OSI) took visitors through how mental health can affect the workplace and their vision for the future, AdSmart by Sky explained how tv advertising still has its place within marketing strategies and how it has become accessible to all businesses. Our event partner, Ideas in Partnership also took part in the expert workshops taking businesses through the steps needed to get new customers and most importantly keep them.
Visitors had the chance to practice their golf swing within our breakout area with Paradise Island Adventure Golf Livingston who brought along their golf hole which proved to be a great hit with all. Our breakout area also invited people to test out their problem-solving skills with the team building game, Red Alert by Team Challenge Company which brought together both visitors and exhibitors as they tried to beat the timer and master the game.
Feedback from our visitors has been extremely positive with many stating the event was very engaging, well organised with great people and good business opportunities. We look forward to welcoming back our exhibitors and visitors next year.
