SCC Comment on No-Deal Brexit Vote
Commenting on the no-deal Brexit vote, Dr Liz Cameron OBE, Director/Chief Executive of Scottish Chambers of Commerce, said:
“Whilst Parliament has said that it does not want a no-deal exit, a lack of clear direction means the cloud of uncertainty continues to hang over Scottish & UK businesses. A disorderly exit on 29th March is still a clear and present danger.
“Extending Article 50 is now a necessity, but it is not the answer for business communities across the UK that fear endless uncertainty.
“Businesses need to see concrete actions demonstrating how a disorderly exit will be avoided, clear timelines for what happens next and reassurances that preparations will continue for all possible outcomes.”
