West Lothian Chamber are leading a virtual trade mission to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in association with the Honorary Consul of Mongolia for Scotland. It will open many doors for our Scottish delegates including meetings with relevant business leaders and leading Mongolian and British companies.
Mongolia is landlocked between China and Russia and they actively pursue a ‘Third Neighbour Policy’ whereby they are ever keen to trade with other International partners. Scotland is very much a part of this policy and Mongolia is ready to receive our delegation at the highest levels of business, education and politics.
Mongolia’s economy has continued to grow since 2014, with growth expected to continue through to 2024 (IMF, 2018). Mining is a large economic sector for Mongolia, and the renewable energy sector is also expanding. The overall business environment improving.
With an abundant solar and wind power resources, along with some hydropower opportunities Scottish companies can get involved in this sector by using their expertise and knowledge to provide new technologies and services.
